“Happy 23rd Birthday” a text came on March 8, 2010

“Thank you mummy. I feel so old now” I replied.

“Grow up honey, it’s time to smell the coffee” she texted back.

“I don’t drink coffee” I replied.

“Still you have to grow up. You can’t stay young forever” she texted back.

My last birthday wish from a loving mother. My world turned upside down on Sunday, January 9th 2011.

I dreaded my 24th birthday. Until now I’m grateful God made sure there were many events on March 8th, 2011. I didn’t want to celebrate it, but at the same time hated that no one cared to celebrate it anymore. Everyone had their own schedule.

Nothing was the same anymore. Since day 41 after her death, I knew there longer lay a link between all of us.

All I have now is Dad & L.

I didn’t want to face the music, I didn’t want to grow up too quickly. At the end I was forced into it, no complaints could be made. Every single complaint ever spoken was regretted.

After L’s birthday in June 2011, I thought I could move on.
I took on a job I knew would keep me busy always. Too busy to think about my life, too busy to remind myself she’s no longer here.

The worst thing is,I wake up one moment remembering

I could no longer pick up the phone and hear her voice.

I could no longer go home and see her.

I could no longer talk to her about my problems and get advice.

All I could do is shed silent tears, questioning God why did this have to happen?

I still don’t understand, did I take her for granted too many times? did I fail so badly as a daughter? did I love her too much?

Loads of people have said to me “We love her, but Jesus loves her more.”

But I know Jesus isn’t an egoistic God. I know He wouldn’t want us to hurt and be in pain.

I love wedding dresses…

Don’t Put Your Faith In Diets And Exercise

Psalm 118:8
8It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.

Alot of people think that the way to get health is to watch what they eat. For example, many people say that the Mediterranean diet is a very healthy one. I agree, generally. But do you know that the people whom Jesus healed were also on a Mediterranean diet? They did not eat pork and prawns, for example, because they were Jews and these things are not kosher for them.
I know that you want to walk in divine health. But God does not want your focus to be on food — what to eat, what not to eat — or even exercise — how to exercise, when to exercise. All these are natural means which the people of the world trust in. It is better to trust in the Lord and His finished work, than to put your confidence in the latest man-made diet plans and exercise regimes.
At the cross, Jesus took your sicknesses and carried your pains, and by His stripes you were healed. (Isaiah 53:4–5) The Bible even tells us how to escape sickness and premature death — by discerning the Lord’s body when we partake of the Lord’s Supper. (1 Corinthians 11:29–30) But instead of focusing on these truths, many of us prefer to focus on dieting and exercising.

WHEREVER IT LEADS YOU

There comes a time in your life when you realise that if you stand still, you will remain at this point forever. You will remain at this point forever. You realise that if you fall and stay down, life will pass you by.

Life’s circumstances are not always what you might wish them to be. The pattern of life does not necessarily go as you plan. Beyond any understanding, you may at times be led in different directions that you never imagines, dreamed, or designed. Yet if you had never put any effort into choosing a path, or tried to carry out your dream, then perhaps you would have no direction at all.

Rather than wondering about or questioning the direction your life has taken, accept the fact that there is a path before you now. Shake off the “whys” and “what ifs”, and rid yourself of confusion. Whatever was ~ is in the past. Whatever is ~ is what’s important. The past is a brief reflection. The future is yet to be realised. Today is here.

Walk your path one step at a time ~ with courage, faith, and determination. Keep your head up and cast your dreams to the stars. Soon your step will become firm, and your footing will be solid again.

A path that you never imagined will become the most comfortable direction you could have ever hoped to follow.

Keep your belief in yourself and walk into your new journey. You will find it magnificent, spectacular, and beyond your wildest imaginings.
